Materials

Domestic waste

Residual waste is optimally handled by shredding it in mechanical-biological waste treatment plants (MBT) and separating the various recyclable materials from each other. Another use of residual waste is thermal utilisation in a waste incineration plant. The heat released is used both to generate electricity and to provide heat.

Domestic waste

Typical residual waste from households offers little potential for material recycling. However, in the cement industry, the high-calorific fractions from the waste can be used as an alternative fuel. RDF manufacturers filter out these fractions by shredding and separating them.

Lightweight packaging

Increasing the recycling rate of packaging with the aim of recycling more valuable materials than before is a key issue in the circular economy. In order to efficiently recycle the packaging collected in bags, this waste must be continuously and reliably sorted.

Hard plastic

In contrast to the processing of lightweight packaging, which is primarily well organised today, hard plastics were still often thermally recycled in the past. However, the recycling rate of these materials is now also increasing thanks to optimised treatment processes.

Pre-Products

The recycling of plastics which are expensive to produce due to their technical properties and are often used to manufacture semi-finished products offers some potential savings for manufacturing companies. However, clean separation of the different plastics is a prerequisite. The pure regranulate obtained can then be used to produce sophisticated plastic components.

Industrial Waste for Alternative Fuels – Processing & Recycling Solutions

The non-recyclable materials from waste generated in industry and commerce can be processed into RDFs and used in power plants or the cement industry.

Big bags and bulk material containers

In order to return extremely tear-resistant plastic fabrics such as big bags to the production cycle, they have to be processed. The key component for this is the shredder. The more efficient the shredder, the safer the subsequent processes. With Vecoplan, these robust and often contaminated connective tissues can be efficiently processed.

Waste paper industry

Both the cement industry and brick manufacturers increasingly rely on RDFs for their production. Waste from paper production can be used as an alternative fuel.

Packaging

As the demand for high-quality regranulates increases, closed-loop recycling is playing an increasingly important role in the material recovery of plastics, and this is why shredding is a critical process step since it is a preliminary stage for the subsequent sorting of recyclable materials.

Hollow body containers

As the demand for the use of recyclates made from polyolefins – especially HDPE and PP – is constantly increasing, the collection and processing of these containers are also playing an increasingly important role. Here we must ensure that we adapt our machines and plants to the requirements of the materials.
