With the VSA (Vecoplan Bag Opener), we have developed a robust, low-maintenance and extremely energy-efficient bag opener with a high throughput rate that allows you to gently open and empty yellow bags. The special design allows the bags to be carefully torn without shredding their contents. Even bag-in-bag fractions, which are common during yellow bag collections, can be guaranteed by this operation, allowing more materials to be recycled.

The bag opener VSA 2500 is used for opening rubbish bags in the fields of light packaging (plastics rubbish bags) and domestic waste.

The special design allows the bags to be torn open gently without shredding their contents. This means that up to 60 tonnes of waste bags can be processed per hour. This process can even be guaranteed for bag-in-bag fractions, which frequently arises when Yellow Bags (part of the German waste collection system for “Green Dot” products) are collected. The share of valuable substances coming from the sorting plant will rise significantly.

Domestic waste

Residual waste is optimally handled by shredding it in mechanical-biological waste treatment plants (MBT) and separating the various recyclable materials from each other. Another use of residual waste is thermal utilisation in a waste incineration plant. The heat released is used both to generate electricity and to provide heat.

Lightweight packaging

Increasing the recycling rate of packaging with the aim of recycling more valuable materials than before is a key issue in the circular economy. In order to efficiently recycle the packaging collected in bags, this waste must be continuously and reliably sorted.

Domestic waste

Typical residual waste from households offers little potential for material recycling. However, in the cement industry, the high-calorific fractions from the waste can be used as an alternative fuel. RDF manufacturers filter out these fractions by shredding and separating them.

Sorting residues

In sorting plants for light packaging (LVP), the packaging items pass through various packaging items pass through various stations, at each of which a specific fraction of the material is sorted out of the material flow.
