Holzindustrie Torgau (HIT) employs around 700 staff and has four production sites throughout Germany where it produces pallets, briquettes, pressed logs and sawn wood. Vecoplan developed and implemented the ideal solution for sawmill waste disposal and subsequent material handling for this large wood processing company.

Requirements

HIT needed two new saw lines with a total cutting capacity of more than one million solid cubic metres a year that could be integrated into its pre-existing sawmill waste disposal system. A disposal and reprocessing line were to be added to the pre-existing lines. This meant the pre-existing sawmill waste disposal system also needed converting. The process included the conversion of the existing machines and was therefore highly demanding in terms of ensuring a comprehensive, integrated and complete solution.

Solution

Vecoplan supplied the complete machine technology. From the sawmill waste disposal, to the chipping plants, including drum chipper VTH, hammer mills & Co. as well as conveyor and storage technology. Vecoplan designed, planned and implemented the complete process. The mechanical and electrical installation, as well as the commissioning was carried out by Vecoplan.

Result

Holzindustrie Torgau had just one single contact for dealing with all conveying technology, material handling and material reprocessing requirements. Vecoplan supplied a complete solution for HIT. The customer benefited from good customer service and competent advice.
