As a construction mechanic, you’ll manufacture components from sheet metal and profiles using manual and automatic processes. Since the components have to be screwed together later, you’ll edge, bend or drill them, so you can assemble them later at the customer’s. Your tasks also include explaining handling, job-specific features and safety regulations to the customer. You’ll also perform the maintenance and repair of the products.
