The apprenticeship course for industrial business management assistants is multifaceted. They learn the ins and outs of all of the company’s administrative departments, such as purchasing, marketing, shipping, accounting, sales, spare parts sales, controlling and the head office. In purchasing, for example, you’ll ask suppliers about their product deliveries and write orders; in marketing, you’ll manage trade fair planning, the company’s website and advertising campaigns. In the shipping department, you’ll organise the transport of our machines, for example, and write invoices. In sales and in spare parts sales, you’ll write offers and process orders from customers. Controlling deals with numbers. You’ll compare the costs incurred with the planned costs and determine the company’s key figures. In the financial accounting department, your tasks will include checking and booking incoming invoices and assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. In the head office, you will be the contact person for visitors, answering the phone and taking care of the incoming mail.
