Vecoplan Ibérica is based in Bilbao, the capital of the province of Bizkaia and the largest city in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country in Spain. It is the most important industrial and port city in the Basque Country and has almost 900,000 inhabitants plus the surrounding area. With around 346,843 inhabitants in the urban area, Bilbao is one of the ten largest cities in Spain. The center of tourist interest, apart from the world's oldest suspension ferry, the Puente de Vizcaya across the Nervión River, is the Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, built until 1997. The spectacular museum building made of titanium, glass and limestone is one of the most important examples of 20th century avant-garde architecture in the world.
